Most people know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Pink ribbons are everywhere during this autumn month, appearing on websites and television, in restaurants and at sporting events and even in churches and schools. Why Awareness is Needed
1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. It is the most diagnosed cancer among women in the U.S., and it’s now the most common cancer globally (breastcancer.org). Almost everyone has had a family member or friend affected by the disease. The good news is that death rates from breast cancer have been steadily declining.
